My Current iHerb Loves

6 days after I placed my order, a box arrived at my door.  iHerb is great.

The first thing I opened was this coconut butter.  It is so, so good.  It is not sweet.  And it’s made from pure raw coconut flesh.  On its own it tastes a little chalky but on toast with strawberry jam or peanut butter- divine!  I think it will be a great add in for smoothies and protein shakes.  Strawberry-coconut?  Banana, chocolate, coconut?

I ordered these pantry-staple spices.  (I had chili in mind)  I just love the bottles.  I want to buy every single one, line them up and think, “how pretty.”  For those of you in the US:  I visited the website and found this print out coupon.  Save $1 on 2 Simply Organic bottled spices!

This is the first time I’ve tried PB2 before.  I ordered the regular peanut butter and the peanut butter with chocolate flavor.  PB2 is powdered peanut butter.  Sounds strange, right?  The biggest difference between PB2 and regular peanut butter is fat content.  PB2 has 85% less fat.  85%!  According to PB2, they essentially squeeze 85% of the oil from peanuts and are left with this powder like substance.  There are no artificial sweeteners or additives.  All natural.

To make peanut butter, mix 2 T of PB2 and 1 T water.  Done. The taste is almost identical to real peanut butter.  Since I’ve never been a peanut butter extremist, I think this stuff is perfect.  The only thing is, you should eat it within 1-2 days of mixing it.  So I’ve just been making little batches and keeping it in a small jar.  Both flavors are great and I really recommend this.  Yummy protein with a lot less fat.  (below: from powder to pb) I’ve been putting it on apples, toast, oatmeal and in Nola’s kong.  She loooves peanut butter.

I also got the Gnu Foods bars in Cinnamon Raisin flavor.  I love the nutrition facts on these.  12 grams of fiber.  Not too much sugar and some protein too.  Oatmeal Raisin Luna bars used to be a favorite of mine.  This Gnu bar has a similar flavor but is actually better than a Luna bar because of its chewy texture.  Now that I think about it, Luna bars are pretty dry.  I like having these kind of bars thrown in my purse or in my desk at school for whenever I need an easy snack.  Sadly though, they aren’t easy to purchase at Korean foodstores; so thank you iHerb.
