Time out for a Thailand tid-bit

In Chiang Mai, our hotel was right next to/above those golden arches.  Well one of my pleasures just happens to be McDonalds.  Sorry, but it is.

Of course while being in Thailand I wanted to eat as much Thai food as possible.  And we did eat some delicious things, but I won’t lie, one night I opted for the international/American standby and ordered a combo meal.  I was surprised to see that the sizes of drinks and fries in Thailand were more like the sizes in the US.  I’ve been accustomed to the smaller versions here in Korea.  I was also surprised to see Ronald McDonald like this:

How awesome.  Even Ronald knows how to do the traditional Thai greeting.

Classic! What is Channg Mai like? Been to the Islands many times though.

We just had 3 nights in Bangkok, near Pat Pong night markets in a nice hotel with roof top pool which cost about $70 a night for 2 adults and a baby. So good!

Chiang Mai is great; and a completely different feel from the islands. Laid-back, busy yet quiet, and offers more than just touristy things. I definitely recommend it!

Cool sounds great! Unfortunately Qantas isn’t flying from Australia to Thailand as of April! But will look into Thai airways and we are in their freaky flyer club ‘royal silk’. Chang Mai sounds like just what we like! Thanks for the heads up! Bangkok can get a little blown out sometimes. But still love going there each year.
